Under his direction, the Institute’s flagship initiative—the ideaHUb incubator—provides collaborative workspaces and hands-on prototyping opportunities through its Maker Space.Previously, Erick served as Director of Research Partnerships and Technology Transfer at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where he advanced industry engagement, technology licensing, and economic development. His strategic leadership fostered partnerships with private companies, federal agencies, and research institutions to accelerate scientific innovation.As a Commercialization Executive at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Technology Transitions, Mike spearheaded workforce development and STEM outreach initiatives, including the COVID-19 Technical Assistance Program (CTAP), reflecting his commitment to impactful, real-world solutions.Erick’s career also includes roles in legal operations at Oerlikon, contract administration at BAE Systems, and federal procurement as a Contracting Officer at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
